Say goodbye to creams
They heal, clean and detox. Patches are the poultices
of the XXI century. They are the latest thing for dealing with the problem of overweight or reducing cellulitis. They also
serve to tackle bags under the eyes, eliminate facial blotches and shape the bust or hydrate skin.
The patches are
very comfortable. They avoid the traditional, awkward application of cream or ointment.
They are the paradigm of practical
cosmetics: they are easy to carry, quick to apply and show visible results. To produce their benefit they use clean, simple
strips which act on the most relevant part of the body.
Like a rocket
These miraculous masks were first used in NASA space journeys. To
prevent astronauts being sick American agency researchers developed the first transdermic patches. These were strips which
made it unnecessary for astronauts to have to take pills or have injections to absorb medicines through the skin when on a
space mission.
In the seventies some pharmaceutical laboratories adopted this technology for the treatment of certain
illnesses, addictions or medical problems. Particularly popular are the estrogen patches, which mitigate the effects of the
menopause, contraceptives to prevent pregnancy and nicotine patches for those wanting to stop smoking or those used to treat
heart problems.
Cosmetic patches
After their success in the pharmaceutical environment, the patches entered the world of cosmetics. The
first patches, not yet transdermic ones, used a sanitary gauze or paper for support. This is the same support used by eau
de Cologne, makeup remover discs or salva slips.
A significant breakthrough was produced by Hydrogel patches, with
a TNT support (tissue non tissue), and an active coating of water and active components.
The definitive breakthrough
is the use in cosmetics of a polymer-based technology used by the pharmaceutical industry. This is an occlusive support guaranteeing
the maximum penetration of the active components into the dermis.
But, apart from the support, there are two types
of patches according to their scope.
• Surface ones. These are dressings which do little more than cover up
a hole. They are patches which skate over the surface of a problem without providing any long-term solution.
•
Transdermic patches applied in medicine (Hydrocoloide technology) and which now in cosmetics produce proven results. All of
this is produced by high technology application which transfers active components to the deepest layers of the skin.
Hydrocoloide
technology used in Skincare Magik Patch Pharmacy patches enables active components
to be supplied from the most external area of the skin, the epidermis, to the deepest areas, dermis and hypodermis.
It
even enables different controlled uses in accordance with the time factor. There are 15-minute, 1-hour and even 1-day patches.
A wide range of applications
1.
The patch is a high-precision cosmetic support with intensive effects. 2. Its packaging in mono-doses guarantees the precise
amount of active components for each application. 3. It is easy to put on and can be taken off in one movement. 4.
Maximum flexibility and gentleness during use. 5. It enables its components to be spread at particular times and in particular
places. 6. It acts by occlusion, preventing the water evaporating. In this way it enables the active components to spread
more easily and prolongs contact time. 7. Immediate, visible effects. 8. It makes the cell walls more permeable, increases
surface flow and the skin’s healing function. 9. It blocks cutaneous evaporation, interferes in the process of gas
exchange and raises the temperature, all of which makes it easier for the product in question to penetrate the skin. 10.
Its ingredient transfer system, with an exclusive molecular design can reach as deep as 20 cell layers but always within the
corneal layer barrier.
